Re-incarnation

Comments made here are not to define or defy anything. Its just an outlet for me to express my thoughts. No offence.

Re-incarnation:

Many faiths talk about it. I was asked by a friend in 2004 whether I believe in it..I said I have no idea. It took a while to form an opinion on this..finally I realize its part of traditional method of enforcing something on the humans to behave like humans and not like animals.

Humans believe they defy nature (but they don't). Though we are just part of the animal kingdom, we don't accept this fact, and define ourselves as something else (humans) and to live in harmony among ourselves we were intelligent enough to come out with concept of Society, Social Values, Law everything hogs around commonly "accepted" human behaviour; best part of it is it is influenced by time and distance!! Even now, suppression of women rights is considered correct in the middle east where as it is not in other parts of the world (distance factor) . Eye for an Eye was commonly accepted across the world in old ages..but now in modern age (time)....

Re-incarnation is nothing but psychology. Humans fear unknown..be it a Devil or God or Next day at work!! It doesn't matter. We are always insecure due our extra intelligence. In animal kingdom, you don't see any species saving food for its retirement..but we do plan. Re-incarnation is kind of last resort to intimidate someone. If a king does bad things, who can question him, what can intimidate him - Only by make him think of God and Only by make him think of the concept of another life for him on the earth!!

So, if there is no concept of re-incarnation then a human may decide to do whatever he/she wants at her will...which may be against prevailing socially accepted norms. The only way he/she can be influenced is by either fear of God or by fear of Re-incarnation. If he/she is a believer, then automatically self discipline sets in as part of the belief in their religion. Re-incarnation is an additional step to intimidate humans to exploit their nature of fearing the unknown. It gels well along with the concept of heaven and hell. Fear of punishment will prevent humans from doing socially accepted bad things.

A soldier in a battlefield kills a handful; A leader who order such an event is responsible for the death of tens of thousands (Bin Laden / Bush). Both may have done it for good / bad cause. But killing a fellow species is considered a sin in human world. These are extra ordinary people who defy their personal beliefs to achieve their goals.

Its only logical to think God cannot consider killings by a soldier as part of his national duty where as killing by a murderer is a bad thing. We do have different yardsticks for different folks and we are crazy enough to believe God also has same yardstick.

Hey but who cares...if Concept of Re-incarnation helps humans to live in harmony and peace, its a worthy lie.
